AVG Security is a family of software products designed to protect your computing devices. AVG Technologies was created in 1991 in the Czech Republic by Jan Gritzbach and Tomáš Hofer. The company's AVG Security suite of products ranges from anti-virus to Internet security to computer optimization and computer support solutions for personal, business and mobile users.

Personal Security
AVG has a host of solutions for users with home PCs. The product for which the company is most widely known is the AVG Antivirus FREE software because it does not require a subscription. Other security products in this line include the subscription-based version of the AVG Antivirus software, the AVG Internet Security software with privacy controls and PC optimization, the AVG Premium Security solution with real-time notifications to advise of compromised user data, among others.

Business Security
AVG's business security solutions are designed to keep employees safe as they utilize and browse the Internet, protect business files and data and keep PCs running smoothly and with less interruptions. All of AVG's business solutions are subscription-based and the company works with resellers that help businesses to deploy the software solutions. Businesses have the option of electing a free trial of all business solutions with the exception of AVG's Rescue CD. The Rescue CD is provided completely free for download to businesses and is designed to remove infections, repair files and recover systems.

Mobile Security
AVG's free anti-virus software is available for both Android smartphones and tablets with a subscription-based PRO version that has the ability to locate your lost or stolen device. The AVG Tune Up application is also available for Android devices. For iPhone, iPad and Windows smartphone users, the AVG Family Safety app helps to protect children from inappropriate websites while the AVG Safe Browser application helps to protect users from scam, phishing, fraud and malicious websites. Unlike the personal and business subscription-based offerings, the mobile subscription-based AVG applications do not come with a free trial of the PRO applications.

AVG Remote Support
For users who need a more personal touch to secure their PCs, AVG offers AVG TechBuddy, a remote support offering to assist you with a host of computer security tasks. Technicians are available 24 hours a day to assist with virus removal, software installation, as well as PC diagnosis and repair. AVG offers users a free consultation and diagnosis of PC issues and has pay structures that range from a pay-per-incident arrangement to a yearly subscription plan that allows users to receive unlimited support. AVG technical support services are available for personal and free products, mobile devices, as well as business and organizational products.
